The 18-hole course features a full-size driving range, a short game practice area and putting green. Reasonable greens fees and a stocked pro shop get you out there on some links with great views. Killington Golf Course, located at the bottom of the ski area, is an 18-hole championship course open to the public. They have a large driving range and practice facility, including an enormous 12,000 sq foot putting green and practice bunker. This layout, at 2000 feet in elevation, has challenging terrain, spectacular scenery and a roaring brook winding adjacent to many holes. Eat at the Clubhouse Grill and don’t forget to look into their Mountain Golf School.
Rutland Country Club, six miles away, is an older course, established in 1902. This course has an excellent reputation amongst Vermont golfers as the real deal, being very well laid out and maintained, pleasing to the eye and challenging. This 18-hole course is semi-private, meaning you have to play with a member, buy a temporary membership, or have special permission set up with your pro. Rutland Country Club has a putting green, a pro shop, a restaurant and a caddy shack.
